How It All Started
Cocalico Hardwood Floor Refinishing LLC was founded in the spring of 2023 by Marlin Martin.
Raised in his father’s cabinet shop, Marlin learned early what true craftsmanship looks like. Competing with his older brothers sharpened his drive for precision and excellence, shaping a lifelong commitment to doing things well and never settling for “good enough.”
After high school, he worked in the trades but often heard a phrase that never sat right with him: "what the customer does not know will not hurt them." He believes homeowners deserved clarity, not shortcuts. Cocalico Hardwood was started with a simple goal: quality work and honest communication every step of the way.

What Sets Us Apart
While many flooring contractors provide a full array of flooring options, hardwood flooring is more unique. Conditions in the home; temperature, humidity and what lies below the flooring can play a big part in the life and satisfaction of the project. As members of the NWFA/ National Wood Floor Association we follow the national guideline set in place to provide a flawless experience with your floor.
New Floors
Whether you are looking for prefinished products or unfinished, we provide information and materials so you know you have made the right decision.
Refinishing
If you are refinishing an existing floor, we come to the home so we can identify any issues prior to the start of any project and provide an accurate quote for the project. We provide options on the recommended products for refinish and are open to adjust those products based on the customers needs. During the refinishing process, our goal is to keep your home clean. While sanding does create a large amount of dust, all equipment used on the job is connected to a large outdoor dust containment system which effectively removes that dust from your home. We assisted you with in home color samples so you can make the correct color selection for your home.
Repairs
If repairs are needed, we assist with getting the correct species and sizing for the repairs. While not all floors can be repaired, we will provide needed information so you can make an informed decision.
